The Manaira Shopping center is one of the largest malls in Brazil. The mall opened to the public in 1989, and it took two years to build. The owner of the mall is Roberto Santiago, known as one of the most successful businessmen in the country. He grew up in the city of Joao Pessoa, and as he became older, he actively thinks about how he could change the city’s future. He took up a degree in business administration at the University Center of Joao Pessoa, and he became a writer for newspapers after he graduated. He is writing on a variety of platforms, including newsletters and the internet, where he gained a huge following because of his writing style. His writing career made it possible for him to earn a big amount of money, which he saved for future uses.

In 1987, Roberto Santiago came across a huge lot in the middle of the city. He purchased it using the money he earned from being a writer and developed the area to become a shopping mall. The Manaira Shopping center was dedicated in 1989, and it changed the lives of the people of Joao Pessoa. Many people started to visit the mall to hang out or to bond with their family and friends, and tourists who are visiting the city of Joao Pessoa are coming inside to see what kind of souvenir they could purchase. Today, the Manaira Shopping center has a lot to offer, and because of its numerous renovations and expansion, the mall occupies a larger area than the original structure. The mall today has a huge entertainment center – which houses the theater, the arcade, and the bowling alley – and it also has facilities like banks, schools, fitness centers, and a gigantic food court serving different cuisines from all over the world. The mall also has hundreds of shops offering a selection of products that can also serve as a souvenir.

The Manaira Shopping center also has a huge concert hall built on its roof, called the Domus Hall. It was built in 2009, and the concert hall could hold 4,000 people inside. It is the top destination of performers who are visiting Joao Pessoa, and the Domus Hall gained popularity worldwide after famous musicians have decided to hold their concert inside. The Domus Hall could also host a number of events, including birthdays, graduation ceremonies, wedding receptions, and so much more. Roberto Santiago changed the cityscape of Joao Pessoa. He also brought positive changes to the city’s economy, which was previously anchoring on tourist arrivals. Roberto Santiago stated that because of the success of his mall, he is now planning to build more malls across the country, and he went to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo to scout for a great place to build his mall.
