Due to their stance on freedom of expression and opinion, there are many parties especially those in government who feel that the journalists are exposing them to their displeasure.

As a way of fighting back, these parties normally press for charges against the journalist. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have been down the same road with this matter. Most of the times they have to be in jail, they always find themselves together.

Lacey and Larkin are the founders of the Front Page Confidential. A new site that was launched at the end of 2017 to address issues of the First Amendment. They were motivated to create this site after witnessing some of the violations against the First Amendment that were happening in the county.

The site has so far been responsible for exposing numerous cases which would otherwise have gone unnoticed. The efforts they are applying have placed spotlight on the justice system to ensure that the First Amendment rights are guaranteed to all.

No one should be victimized based on the opinions they hold. It is the right of every American to be allowed space to express himself or herself without being reprimanded by state organs which some time act on the wrong interpretation of the law.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are currently in court answering to charges of running illegal activities through a site they used to own known as Backpage.com. The site which they sold in 2015 is accused of being an online brothel that was responsible for sex treated crimes. Although this matter has not appeared on the charge sheet, foes of the site had always complained about the site being used for pimping. It is not the first time that they are facing these accusations.

In the past, they have been to court to answer to cases of pimping which were later dismissed by a federal judge. The two journalists argue that the state cannot take over a platform that is used by the people to express themselves.

Michael Lacey will continue fighting for the rights of the people no matter what is happening. The arrest won’t make them slow down on the cause they are involved in.
